You will carry out inspections, investigate complaints, gather evidence, interview witnesses and alleged offenders, and take enforcement action where necessary to secure compliance with legislation.You will work directly with landlords, tenants, residents and partner agencies to resolve issues such as fly-tipping, accumulations of waste, vermin infestation, nuisance and anti-social behaviour arising from poor waste management practices. The role combines investigation, enforcement, problem solving and education, giving you the opportunity to improve neighbourhoods while helping landlords and tenants understand and meet their responsibilities.No two days are the same. You may be carrying out inspections, preparing legal evidence, attending court, supporting multi-agency operations or providing advice to members of the public and elected members.
